Almost one billion people in the world live without access to clean water and electricity. The majority of these live in rural areas and spend 4-5 hours a day collecting water and wood. Clean water in your home isn’t only a matter of health, it also leaves more time for school or work, and a way out of poverty.

Unclean water is poured into the Solvatten device and left in the sun for a couple of hours. The process cleans and prevents micro-organisms from growing, making the water safe from bacteria that causes diseases.

In 2023 alone, Aritco AB and companies in the Aritco Group provided 146 Solvatten devices to 146 families in Uganda. This initiative goes beyond just providing clean water; it translates into tangible benefits for communities. It’s estimated to reduce 6,570 sick days annually, ensure 9,636 additional school days for children who no longer need to trek long distances for water, and a reduction of approximately 146 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
